| Physical Distancing and Density Requirements | The microscope was moved into a new room so that the computer monitor can be seen from the doorway. This assists with social distancing, since an individual can now stand outside the doorway and still see the operation of the microscope. The 6 foot distance will need to be broken to properly test and train on the microscope. The company Andor has provided them surgical and/or N95 masks and eye protection and have been provided the UD close contact guidance document. Once again, contact with UD personnel will be limited. If Dr. Caplan or his staff needs to interact with these individuals, they will wear either a surgical mask or N95 mask (fit tested) and eyewear. This may be required. The most likely scenario is Dr. Caplan’s expertise is needed to troubleshoot problems on the microscope. |
| Visitor Access Request | This request is for a “visitor” to an on-site campus research facility. Justification: The Bio-Imaging Center is one of three beta sites for the Andor Dragonfly next-gen spinning disk microscope capable of single molecule localization. The scientist Kalpana Siriwardana from Andor is leaving the company and will be replaced by Anna Fasoli with support from Adam Wise. Dr. Siriwardana was previously approved for access and will be on site one last time to pass over the responsibility to Fasoli and Wise. The three will work together Feb. 4 and 5th. They will have close contact with each other during this time but limited, socially distant contact with UD personnel. Fasoli and Wise will be back as needed for technical support and repairs. |
