Physical Distancing and Density Requirements In addition to myself, the lab currently has five graduate students, one postdoc, and five undergraduates. Given the lab space, we never have more than 4 people in the lab at a time (33% capacity) which allows for adequate 6 foot distancing at all times. To help with scheduling, we have a Google calendar on which all lab members indicate the time that they will be in lab each day. There is 100% compliance and thus never more than 4 people in at a time. All students are required to wear surgical masks and eyewear in the lab. In addition, these two undergraduate, John and Allison, will spend very little time physically in the lab this semester. John (2 credits of BISC468) is primarily analyzing high throughput imaging data sets which can be done remotely. Allison (1 credit of BISC468) will be performing some simple behavioral assays. Both students will also maintain their own animals and pour nematode growth plates for the lab. Expected time in the lab each week: John – 1 1/2 hrs, Allison – 2 hrs. When they are in the lab, all training will occur with 6 foot distancing and appropriate PPE.
